I just bought a bottle of Reef Complete to raise my Ca levels. Using the Reef Chemistry Calculator, it says, in order to raise my Calcium from 400 to 425 I need to dose 8.8tsp of Reef Complete. BUT, on the bottle it says 1 capful(1tsp) will raise Ca by 10ppm. So to raise Ca by 25ppm, thats only about 2.5tsp. Why such the big difference???

Also, I read somewhere that I shouldnt raise my Ca more than 25ppm a day. True?

EDIT:
Nevermind...I read the bottle wrong. 1tsp PER 20 gallons will raise the Ca by 10ppm. Since I have a 75g tank, it'll take about 3tsp to raise it 10ppm. AND, to raise the Ca to 25ppm would take 7.5tsp.

You can raise calcium much more than that in one day.

And believe me, don't go by the directions on the bottle.

I use Reef Complete myself and jd's calculator is right on the money.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. "Wizard of Oz" thing. :D

Manufacturers often scale back their recommendations so newbies don't nuke their tanks.

You can trust jd's calculator I assure you. :)
