Wasn't sure where to put this........So i just ordered this light (Coralife 96w quad) a few days ago and was wondering what types of coral can be kept under this. It will probably be mostly Softies and LPS but would like to keep some sps if the light is sufficent. Thanks

There are a few species of SPS that you may be able to keep, I'm not sure which ones though.

Depending on the depth of your tank...

You'll be able to keep basically all LPS, softies, zoo's, shrooms etc.

I would stay away from clams and most SPS though.

John99,

I've got the standard 10 gal AGA with that light. It works great for my montipora digitatas as well as my rics, zoanthids, trumpet, frogspawn, and mushrooms. It also doesn't heat the water much at all. I keep the tank uncovered with the light about 2 inches above the water. At night the temp is 79, during the day it gets to about 80. Not too bad. Good choice.

You can keep everything but clams and difficult SPS under that light. And at the top of the tank you may be able to keep those.

I have one On my 10G, Ive got it all all in there, to much for some RICS, and slow growth on most SPS but, itll do GORGS and MONTIS. Everything else is a go. Clams, havnet any experience on under this light. Btw it gives off a nice color.

I got the light yesterday and WOW, it seems really nice! Everything immeadiately opened up. The only thing i dont like are those mounting legs. I swear it took me a half hour to put those on right. Anyways im very pleased.
