I have a 6g eclipse tank that I used to use for my sick fish. I did put some copper in the system @ one point.

Can I still use this tank to setup a nano reef?

I don't think so. I know that if the copper touched any silicone it could still remain in there. I wouldn't chance it

never mind. I'll just buy a nano cube 12 and call it a day. :D

NO, the copper residue gets into the silicon and it can damage
sensitive corals.. if you are putting in shrooms and other easy
care corals yes.. Or if you are doing a fish only then yes.. but why risk it on expensive corals..
Copper does breakdown by bonding easily in saltwater,
but even though it might not show up on a test kit it can be at lethal levels for corals.

Personally, in the long run, the tank ends up being one of the least expensive things you buy. If you have any doubt, I wouldn't chance it. One of the reasons I don't even think about buying used tanks.

Agreed. It's a nice upgrade, anyway :)

I don't think it can get any clearer than this.

:D I'm glad I went with starfire over just standard glass. I guess you can say it's as clear as acrylic, but have a nice shine to it.

The tank that used to be there was almost the same dimesion (acrylic) but glass makes it looks so much classier. The starfire is the cherry on top.
