are there anything that bothers zoas? some polyps of my zoos open and then on other days it closes while the other ones open. there are alot of pods on that rock that crawl over them. are these the problem? i see them close up when being crawled over. will the dying polyps next to the healthy ones affect them in any way?

Hold up, are the polyps just closing up when they have pods crawl over them or are they always closed and dying. You need to be a bit more clear about their condition. If you've got a lot of pods then you can try adding a mandarin goby. Pods are their staple diet plus they stunning fish.

well today the most of the polyps are open. and no, i dont have any pictures. the pods looks somewhat like amphipods. i sometimes see some polyps wiggling, almost like they're gonna fall off the rest of the zoos. when i observe more closely, i see a large pod under that polyp where its kind of unattatched to the rock. i would love to add a mandarin in my tank, but its only a 12gallon. im afraid it would starve in that small of a tank, no matter how much pods there are. it will wipe out all the pod population in that tank because its so small.

An alternative to adding a mandarin is a wrasse. Sixline wrasse maybe.
