from what i have read...bimaculatus grows larger and lives in deeper water, bimaculoides is encountered more in the wild (and is more popular in the pet trade) since it hangs out in shallower water. For someone who knows, whats the ID difference? Something about a broken versus non broken chain around something?

Bimaculatus has a pronounced broken chain in the middle of the ocellus. They are also a small egg laying species.
