I have started a new fuge in a 10G tank which flows from/to sump. I have put in about 2" of Southdown and some macro and small LR pieces.......should I add some LS from friend or LFS?? or will the flow and LR seed this?

I got great results by adding a pound of Garf Grunge (www.garf.org). My sand is full of life.

That is certainly an option, but as long as there is pod life in your tank, life will find it's way into your fuge without any intervention:)

I have heard good things about the GARF Grunge, but if you want, you can seed it from another system, seed it from your display, or let it occur on its own with out seeding it.

I would buy some copepod and amphipod cultures and call it a day. It wouldn't hurt to add some live sand just to speed things up, but in a few months it will all be the same.

That GARF site is very confusing...where can you actually buy the Grunge?

The easiest way is to call their phone number 208-344-6163 and ask for it. Or you can email them at leroy@garf.org I think it is $5 per lb. One should be enough for your tank.
