Well, i just bought a tank, and everything is fine except for one thing. I have a huge population of growing hair algae, all over the rocks. Any idea on what to do to get rid of it? What would help eat it?

The best thing I have found is a sea hare. They are so ugly they are cute.
Good Luck

Here is a link to a Sea Hare.
Hope it helps.
I did a lot of siphoning and then got an Emerald crab. He really went to town on the stuff - until he found other things he liked better - like green bubble algae. Once my tank got established with some live rock I have not had the hair algae again. My tank has been up almost one year. No fish yet. I think I will be getting some in July.

Can you tell us what your nitrates and phosphates are testing?
Also what skimmer are you running and how much flow?
Do you use tap water or RO/DI?
