Ok, so we all know that we keep snails and hermits for the purposes of cleaning up after our fish (shall housework never cease?), which really means eating the waste they produce. However, what goes in must come out, so, do you think snails eat their own waste? What about hermits? Or do you think they know theirs from the fish's and avoid it?

My lion fish lets go a giant load once in a while and all of the other fish eat it up. Come to think of it I feed my lionfish live goldfish and never see skeletons come out of his butt!! As for snails I would say the work the same way.

my snails eat algae, so no, I doubt they do deliberately.
