I need to settle on a return pump for my new 54 corner. The tank is drilled and the overflow pulls water in from top and bottom (not the megaflow).

What return pump should I use?
Thanks.

The options are endless. What size are you looking for? How much are you willing to spend. An Ocean Runner is getting great reviews for being affordable, quiet and reliable. I would go w/ the 3500 if it were my tank.

I am not really concerned about brand so much as how many gph do I want going back into the tank. The overflow states it is rated at 600 gph.

I have read that you should get a return pump that pushes 80% of what the overflow is rated (after taking in to account the head loss).
Is this true?

I'm running a Mag Drive 950 in mine. Seems to be getting the job done.

Sounds about right. You could even go less if you want to as long as your going to get your water movement from powerheads.

I have a hydro seltz 45 on my 92 corner with the megaflow and I like it a lot. My megaflow pulls in water from the top and bottom, it that new or just a variant?
