I am looking into buying some carribean white sand on eBay and he packs some red gracilera algae along with some live rubble rock with the sand...is this good macro algae to have or will it become toxic like Caluerpa?

Great stuff, especially if you have tangs. They will go nuts over it, and it is way healthier for them than most other common macro, and especially nori. I had a 40G prop tank full of grac. and fed it to my tangs daily. My Desjardini had serious HLLD, and after feeding this for about six months it cleared up.

I was thinking of putting some in my fuge as well. Any special care requirements? or do I just treat it like cheato.

Cool

The Saltwater Kid,
Gracilaria doesn't have any toxins ;)

Antman,

I have seen pygmy angels nibble at the tips.

coolkidtr,

It grows well with the same care as chaet.
