Is it ok to have saltwater + cured LR in a newly setup tank but without the loop to the sump - i.e. only two Tunze 6100 streams moving the water and hence no skimmer etc?.

I do not yet have my skimmer and have not made enough water to have a closed loop, and since I am about to go on a 10 day holiday I thought if I could add the LR to the tank now it would be closer to cycled when I get back in 10 days time.

Is this ok to do?

For clarification, are you talking about the pump that pushes water from the sump to the tank? If so, that isn't a closed loop. A closed loop is a 'loop' where all the plumbing is connected directly to the pump so there is no vessel the water has to travel through. It's used for ciruclation only.

As long as you have some circulation I would imagine you will be ok. Especially if you have no livestock to worry about.
