Does anyone on the Island have any Tall tanks or hexagon tanks that they are looking to get rid of .... or know of a place where I would be able to get them for cheap. I am looking to start a seahorse tank when I move back to long island in 3 weeks. Let me know thanx all

What species are you looking to get? I have seen seahorses kept in regular height tanks, even large ones like H. ingens, in 10g tanks, and breed successfully. I think that whole "seahorses need tall tanks to breed " is a little overrated.

I have a 20 gallong Hex with some fresh waters in it. I would love to start a SH tank. Is it a good tank to use?

don't see why not. Seahorses need nice calm water, noncompetitive tankmates, and careful selection of corals, if any, so a separate tank is really the only way to go.

Well i am probably looking to keep H. erectus that can be kept in minimum of a 20 gallon tank. the seahorses that are kept in 10 gallon tanks are dwarfs ..... it is not a proper home for most seahorses. As for the 20 gallon hex tank you have freshwater in it currently???? you would need to cycle if and clean it out for a while....... A 20 hex is good for one pair of adult SH's
