I wish I had it to do over again , I would have gone with low iron glass. Sure you can buff scratches out of acrylic , if you are able. My shoulders are in bad shape , and I am unable to do any hard sanding , or buffing . I now see that low iron glass is the best way to go . I know the cost is high , but you only have to do the viewing areas. Sorry I just had to vent. Ted

I have strong shoulders. I say we have the next ANCHOR meeting at your house and we all help buff!
I know we all want to help you Ted. Let us, please...

Diane, That would not be fair , but thanks for the offer. I planed to pay someone that does acrylic work . I just wanted to vent ,and keep someone else from making the same mistake .

Fair, fair, life isn't fair... it's supposed to be about helping each other. How about you let me help you and you spend the $$ on stuff for the tank???

Diane , That is very sweet of you to offer , but I would feel better with a frag , or two. I have plenty of time before I can set this thing up. Thank you Diane . ( ANCHOR IS LIKE A FAMILY TO ME )

I would love to come help you out! That's the kind of stuff I like! I've only been around you guys a couple of times, but it is always nice and I learn alot. I really really (assuming time is right) would like to do that.
What kind of tank are you doing? Size? Reef? other?

Thanks for the offer, but it's going to be a little while. My wife , and I are going away for a while . Our son will be staying at our house to take care of the pets.
I'm just thinking about setting up my old tank . (A 225 gal acrylic. ) I have to keep the operating cost down a lot lower this time around. I will be using NSW ,and things from the gulf ,nothing spectacular . Ted

Maybe we could do the June meeting at your place and work on the acrylic. Ted, you're the reason we have a club. Plus I know you and Linda put on a nice spread... and we should all know how to buff scratches out of acrylic and set up a big tank... think of it as a learning meeting for all of us : )

Ted,
There is some cool stuff in the gulf. I think it could be a pretty tank.
Cheers,
Chris
