Hello,

I finally installed my phosban filter from 2LittleFishies yesterday using the RIO400 pump that I bought with it. I ran the pump full on for the first few seconds as the instructions say, but when I dialed it back to where it needs to be for the filter to function properly it is SOOO NOISEY that my wife has told me we can not run it! Is there a way to silence this pump, or what pumps are you guys using with your phosban filters? Thanks!

im using the mj400, dead silent. Not sure why your rio is so noisy.

good luck, Mike

You still have to dial it back quite a bit right? Do you have it "suction cupped" to anything, or is it on the bottom? I might buy a MJ400 if that will fix my problem. Just weird that it is quite when on full blast, but very loud when dialed back via the ball valve. My sump is very tight quarters, so is the MJ400 quite a bit smaller than say the MJ900? Thanks!

yeah, i dial it back to about 70% or so. As far as size its about 2.5" square. I also hear people using the micro-jet 606. There really small. And No I dont suction cup it, i just let it float.

good luck, Mike

I'm using the mini jet 400, works perfect, and very quiet.
I refuse to use rio's.
