What is the best plumbing for a 75 gallon drilled aquarium that you have ever seen? The simplest, most effective way of doing it with the best results?

Links please.

There is no best. It depends on many variables:

overflow type
number of holes, sizes and locations
return pump size
size of sump
layout of sump
design of stand

I haven't decided on any of my equipment, the number of holes is variable and the sump size is variable. Overflow can be anything, but I do no have a built in overflow. The stand could probably hold a 36"x12" footprint at most, with an 18" height having lots of headroom.

I would drill two 1.75" holes in the back near the top, and put in a calfo style overflow, shallow and all the way across the back. Very effective, very simple.

Do you have any links to calfo overflows? The search function isn't working and google isn't really bringing any good resources.

You can also check out this current thread which has pics of a Calfo style overflow on my 45 with a silent controlled siphon.
