The two clowns I have are hooked on the red fish cocaine (cyclopeeze) it's what they mostly ate before I got them.
I'd like to introduce more variety into their diet. They have taken mysis but slowly.
I use Zoe to soak the food.
Are there any tips to adding other more exotic items to the menu? Specifically any process for getting them interested?
Thanks!

Garlic may help w/ mysis.
Try some veggies also, mine eats nori as well as flakes.
garlic additives will tend to inspire fish to chow down
you could also raid the seafood department at the grocery store, and make your own frozen fish mix, with cyclopeeze mixed into it
i actually had to go the other direction - i have a pair that would eat flake, mysis, and homebrew frozen chow, but wouldn't have anything to do w/ cyclopeeze....so i covered some thawed mysis in cyclopeeze. they took to their orange battered bugs quickly, then accepted cyclopeeze by itself shortly there after.
might work for getting them acclimated to a less heavily crack influenced diet

Yeah they started eating more of the mysis when I removed the cyclopeeze. The problem was if there was cyclopeeze they ignored everything else.
I'll try the garlic sooner, I was going to add it at some point but I didnt realize it could increase appetite, I thought it was mostly for immune system health.

Do they eat Artemia (Brine Shrimp) soaked in garlic? Or even take a small risk and get live brine, if you really need to.

They eat no problem. It's just that they love them some cyclopeeze something fierce!
The brine is smaller then mysis but larger then the cyclopeeze right?
The larger clown will eat more of the mysis then the smaller one, perhaps the small guy will like the size of brine more. Thanks again!

I've read that variety is good, that's all. I dont want to make this out to be a problem.

Yeah, I meant clowns that won't eat anything they can fit in their mouths.
I'd try to get them onto variety, too... mixing it with other foods may do the trick, never know for sure with clowns.

my pair will eat anything I put in the tank, cyclopeeze, mysis, brine, turkey baster, my finger...

try 'ORA glow' or Spectrum (small size) pellet foods as a (less expensive) alternative to Cyclopeeze
