What's so special about Lumenarc 3 reflectors anyways?

Seems that this is the reflector of choice for MH lights. Why?
They seem much more expensive than others.
Are they much better than any other less expensive ones?
Is it worth the money?

I am debating buying them, but need more info on them.

I looked at Sanjay's reflector study and did NOT notice the Lumenarcs were any better than the others.

they cover more area, they will alow more light from the bulb.

i have never used them but know a few ppl that have them and they love them.

I just hooked up one of my luminarc reflectors today and it sure does light up A LOT. My tank is thirty-six inches wide so that's why I went with the Luminarc, covers more area than the others.

covers a larger area and have a larger "hot spot" than other reflectors. Much better than say spider reflectors IMO
