So I just ordered a clean up crew online from SWF's site. It was $90 bucks, free shipping and comes with the following:
Scarlet Hermit Crab: 10
Blueleg Hermit Crab: 10
Nasssarius Snail: 10
Brittle Starfish: 2
Coral Banded Shrimp: 1
Emerald Crab: 3
Turbo/Astrea Snail: 20
Cleaner Clam: 2

Now here's the question I have:
Do I consider this addition a Bio-Load?

The reason I ask is because if it is, I might add half to my DT and half to my QT for a while, just to let the bacteria catch up. Also, because I just found two really healthy Anthias at my LFS that I kinda like (Don't remember the name), which I know will add to the Bio-Load. And I might drive over to Spokane to get something from KevinPo at Aquatic Dreams. I just don't want to make too big of an addition all at one time...Would you consider it too big of a bio-load?

They will add to the "bio-load" but a clean up crew wont be to much of a load.

Just please dont add any fish until the cycle is completely done!

Also just a little fyi...... the hermits might end up eatting some snails so they can get their shells. i personally dont use any hermits... cause i'm not buying snails just to keep them healthy. waste of money imo. so you may want to consider getting rid of the hermits once the cycle is done

The hermits keep your rocks very nice. They just need you to drop in a few shell upgrades. The craft store has clean shells you can use. Sometimes the LFS will give you some. They have often got dead snails from excess orders.

If you use old shells from the pet store make sure you put them in scalding hot water for a few minuted to kill anything that may be on them.

Even w/ plenty of spare shells about I think the hermit crabs kill the snails anyway just for fun. They do a wonderful job getting down in the nooks and crannies of the rock. Soooooooooooo, I just buy more snails from time to time. Not often though.

My snails pretty much don't have a problem with them. I suppose I like to see them eat those pellets so I probably feed them well. What kind are getting "eaten"?

Honestly, I've neve sat and watched my crabs kill a snail. I know when one of my crabs is wearing a shell of a snail I just bought because I didn't have that species in my tank before and the shell is distinctive.

That's kind of a drag.

Hey, are you the one with the pistol shrimp?
