that might be a bad pump.. i had 2 quiet one 3000's and 2 5000's and they were pretty quiet.. the larger 2 made a vibration since they didnt have the rubber feet on em, so i sat them on a mousepad, and they were silent.

I have a QuietOne 3000 and it is very quiet.
You may want to take yours back and try another one, if you can.

I have a 5000 I've used in a couple applications. Its been quiet and reliable. Sounds like yours has an issue.

I have several (5) quiet one pumps ranging from the 800 (220gph) to the 4000 (1000gph) and the only time they're noisy is when air gets trapped in the impeller cavity. Either I got lucky or they're half decent pumps.

My 3000 is quite, but stopped working after 2 weeks - working on a replacement now.

My 2200 started up with a noise like you describe about 2 times ever. Try turning it off and on a few times. I think occasionally air gets trapped and it makes noise for some reason.

My quite one 3000 has been great over a year old.
