change in leather shape

Concerned about cange in leather shape.The first two months in new tank my leather stretched out to a length of about 10 inches an about 5 inches across. The last two months it only sretches out to about 7 inches long an 5 inches across. It still opens up polyps an seems fine .All parameters and water flow is the same .Do I need to be Concerned??

how bout the lights? Are they maybe getting old? What type of lighting do you have over it by the way?

The lighting is nova x-treme with t-5.The bulbs are six months old. The t-5 should be good yet.
