Just wondering if anyone has ever had a Barracuda. I'm sure someone will give me the negative comments about how big they get. But I have it coverd on the tank. I would like to find out any information on them, anything that is helpful. Thanks!!!!

You'll probably find more information on keeping them from someone with experience at a public aquarium. I can't imagine keeping them in anything smaller than a large pools of several thousand gallons. There is a species related to barracudas (I've seen them in Florida) which has a smaller adult size. I don't know if they have ever been kept in home aquariums.

Well,he is going to start off in my 400, once he gets bigger he is going into my pond in the basement, with the rest of the fish that people who really cant provide long term care for have given me. I was just curious about them,

remember that these guys are super active swimmers. plus they get big and mean. you'll need a ridiculously large amount of water.

just out of curiosity, what's in your reject pond (kudos to you for that btw)? is it like a pond dedicated to predators? that'd be sweet.

Had a friend that had a baby one, it was only about 6" in a 125g. Ate everything, hardy fish. He had a pair of clark clowns, a couple tangs, koran angel and a paddlefin wrasse in there with him. No problems. We definitely need pics of this reject pond! How big? More details!

Yeah the pond was kind of not planned, it just happend. I have an obsession with sharks and it started there. A local pet shop had a nurse shark that couldnt even turn around in a 220, I convinced them to give it to me and the rest is history. I dont always keep the fish, if I can I try to get them to someone who has a huge tank. The Nurse shark "Wee man" as I called him was taken by a Doctor that has a 25' diameter tank in his office. Just try to do what I can. Will post pics soon.

Very cool, glad to see that someone is out there to help some poor fish and sharks. So do you have anything in the pond that is staying? What size is the pond? in gallons? And I would go to that doctor just to see a 25' tank! That is amazing!

I echo all of these questions. More details on the pond please.

Once we know more about the pond we can judge better whether it could hold a barracuda ;)
