what exactly do you need for a frag tank set up of lps and sps in the same tank?

just a tank with a drilled back with two drain pipes and two return pipes?

what else is needed for the sump? just a skimmer? no kind of fuge is generally ran a frag tank is it?

so holes in back

skimmer

high flow

does that about sum it up?

and Metal halide of course!

as far as lighting on a 40 breeder... with the T5's... to just do half of the tank... is

24" Retrofit: 2-24W T5 HO Fluorescents

enough, or would i be better off going with 4-24w bulbs?

i will probably do either a 150w or 250w DE HQI bulb in 14k, maybe even 10k if i can get more growth out of it.

I think you got it.. however I'm pretty sure most people usually hook the frag tank into there main tank.

I always thought one of those little slop sinks from HD would make a good frag tank. it has nice plastic legs, a hole in the bottom center for an overflow tube. holes by the top to secure return plumbing. they are whatever $29. you could have a row of them and move them around easily.

and it is one-piece so no glue seams to leak :D
