View Full Version : Is a tang to much in my 75 gal?

I have a 75 gal set up for about 6 months now with one russel lion and have kept up with water changes 10 gal every 2 weeks.All my water test mark 0 ppm every week.I was told that i can keep a yellow tang with him.It will be just them two and no other fish just clean up crew.Is this ok or sould i drop the idea?I know you guys will help and not give false info!!!
Please don't get on me to bad i am just asking before i do it:) .

You should be fine with a Yellow Tang. Only 2 fish in a 75 you could probably have a few more smaller bio load fish in it as well after those 2 but you are golden with just those 2 fish. Another Tang you can go with would be a Kole Tang. I have one and he is cool. Pictures dont do them justice ask to see one at your LFS they look more purple than brown and have nice stripes and the yellow eye just pops with color.

I think you'll be OK as far as bio-load goes. Just remember that lions have a surprising ability to eat fish that you'd swear are way too big to fit in their mouth.
