ozone & Tridacna clams

Hello fellas,
is anyone runnig ozone in a tank with Tridacna clams?
Did you notice any bad reaction of the clams to ozone?

do you have a controller?

should be fine as long as there aren't abrupt changes. clams need stability in parameters.

I run 3-4 hours per day without controller since 4 months,I didn't notice any problem with my 3 Tridacnas,but I'd like to know if anyone was runnig Ozon with Tridacnas for a longer period without experiences any problems :)

ozone shouldn't be a problem but you need to run the water comming from wherever your adding the ozone through carbon. its not the ozone that needs to be filtered out with carbon but what ozone does. IIRC it will convert bromate into bromine/bromide(or vis versa) (aka bleach)

......or you can run it through a germacidal wavelength(254nm) UV lamp after the Ozone unit and it will also destroy the ozone and let it convert back to O2. IMO/IME it works better than carbon but also more expensive.

I run ozone 24/7. No problems.
