Any way to remove a clam from a rock?

My new BTA decided to move right next to my Crocea & I need to move one or the other. The clam is on the top of the rock & the BTA is on the bottom but when it opens up it touches the clam. Is there any way to get the clam off the rock?

gently tip the clam to one side then cut the byssal threads as far away from the clam as you can
