I am in the market for a calcium reactor and have only one question.

Calcium reactors I see have a recirc pump, but.......If I feed the reactor with a another small pump located in the sump, how do I just get effluent "dripping" from the output of the reactor. I mean doesn't this ruin your feed pump, and overpressurize your reactor at the same time as it is trying to pump a fixed amount of volume into your reactor and you are only bleeding say 40 drops per/min?? May be a dumb question but I have always used 2-part in the past.

although the concept sounds plausible in theory, I have never heard of anyone having a problem w/ a feed pump. others use a line tee'd off of the return pump. the effluent drip rate can be controlled by a small valve, dosing pump or, some people even control input flow into the reactor which in turn controls drip rate. I had nothing but problems when my reactor in line was not under "pressure"
