Is there a skimmer that does not require a constant water level to function properly?

THanks.. Damn lack of planning a year ago is a PITA.

Skimmers with an adjustable outflow dont have to have a certain water level. Only enough to submerge the pump. Gate valves keep the water at a certain level instead of back pressure from outside water.

I thought there was some. Thanks for the help!

I like the price of the Octopus 200... I could just do a gatevalve mod on it, right? I could just do a gate valve mod on any skimmer for that matter (including my CSS220), right?

Hmm, now I am thinking of just changing the pump (was thinking of the OR 3700) and doing a gate valve mod on my CSS 220...

Anyone think this would work?

Ive seen people put there skimmer in a bucket in the sump, kinda like making its own baffled section. Then drill holes in the side to regulate where you want the level to be.
