I was woundering if you could run a 175watt bulb in a 250watt icecap ballast?

could be as exciting as aurora borealis.....or just a dismal flash in teh pan show.....either way, not a great idea to plug a 175 into a 250....especially MH bulbs.....those are fun...

Has anyone actually tried it? Or have a real explaination why? 250HQI ballasts run 325-375 watts with 250 bulbs. That makes you wonder why you can't overdrive a 175 to just 250. Especially when that Iwasaki 15,000k bulb is out there.

you can overdrive bulbs....
just don't want to be around when they decide to let go.
