How often do I dose Kalk?

I want to start dosing Kalk using a Kent Aqua Dose 2.5.

How often do I dose and is it safe to dose straight into the tank?

I don't have the sump hooked up yet. I will be dripping near the MCE600 intake.

Is this a good idea; will it crust up the impeller on the pump? Or, should I drip near the power head flow?

I dose kalkwasser (limewater) continuously as topoff. Your tank might not consume enough calcium and alkalinity to make that necessary, but most do, I think. A drip into the main tank is fine, in my experience. This article might help:
