I have read that they can be territorial and this guy seems to fit it.

Currently I have 1- six line wrasse, 3 green chromis and a diamond headed goby, all have been doing great and get along in my 40 gallon long 48" x 12" x 16"....Then comes along Mr. diadema, He was just put in yesterday, he seems very angry and has set up his little space on one side of the tank and when another fish comes by his area he chases them away along with the cleaner shrimp, but the shrimp won't back down. Now all of the other fish congregate on one side of the tank. My concern is stress, the other fishes stress and mine. Should I take him back or maybe rearrange the rocks (he'll probably just set up another area of terror).. Im thinking this probably won't pass with time.

Thanks
Joe

Honestly it will only get worse as it gets more established.

Angry Diadema Psuedochromis

That title is redundant, diadema (and most other pseudochromis) are angry, evil and nasty fish. BTW, he'll eventually eat the shrimp too. Good luck catching it to remove it ............

Thought I would update this, since I had an interesting find.. Today I removed the diadema psuedo from the tank. I had to remove just about all 85 lbs of rock to get him out, and when I took out a large piece of the rock I found this.... sorry the pic is kinda bad all I had was my cell camera, but it was about a 4 1/2 inch mantis shrimp. Im thinking thats where one of my cleaner shrimp went.

When I took the psuedochromis back I brought along the mantis, one of the guys at the LFS took him.. I just couldn't bring myself to dispose of the little guy.

Good to hear you passed on the mantis to somebody who wanted it.

Surprised and disgusted at the same time, I never had the pleasure of dealing with a mantis before in all my tanks.. I actually did hear a loud cracking when the lights went out, it sounded like wood cracking.. My first thought was it was my wooden canopy then I had the idea of a mantis, but never saw it. When it first plopped out it looked like a millipede scared me a little. Now that Ive moved the rock around I see there is a decorator crab in there. Surprises all around.
