I'm getting a 175w IC MH ballast for my soon to be setup prop. system. Since the prop. system will be for grow out and not display I want to put a bulb on there that will do this the quickest. I've always heard Iwasaki 65k's grow corals like crazy so of course this is my first choice.

I know a few years ago IC had a ballast just for the Iwasaki bulbs but I can't find one anymore. So, have they adapted the regular 175w MH ballast to run them now? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the only Iwasaki 175w bulb is the 15000k. Eye Spec List (http://www.eyelighting.com/ss/EQS-N-52-84-00032.pdf)
However to answer your question, an electronic ballast will fire a 65k Iwasaki bulb, which is really a mercury vapor bulb and not a halide. If you are looking for the best ballast light combo take a look at the bulb/ballast sticky at the top of this forum.
