skimmer not skimming

So I've been running my turboflotor skimmer for about 2 days now and nothing is getting collected. There's a ton of bubbles in the skimmer that get pushed out into the main tank. Any ideas as to why I'm not getting any skimmate?

You've gotta let the skimmer break in which may take a few days.

How do you know if it's working properly if it takes weeks to "break in"?

It will start skimming, if you see gunk its starting to work.

yup, it took a week of breaking in and adjusting for my skimmer to finally find the sweet spot. now its disgusting what collects in the cup.

One more example of "patience" being the product we most need in this hobby. Let it run... let it settle in. Don't even fuss with it. In a couple weeks, start increasing the level of the bubbles slightly... one day at a time... not a whole bunch all at once. It will work, you just need to give it time.
