high nitrites

My 10g qt is reading .25 in nitrites and i dosed it with Prime the amonia is now at 0 but i'm still getting a reading of .25 for nitrites even dosing it 5x.

i have 2 fish in there. Can i dose prime everyday and do 50%water changes every 4 days? This may sound stupid, but i am tired of buying 50g bags of salt that cost 25 bucks and last 5 days.

The nitrite level is irrelevant in a quarantine tank. I'd just ignore it. I don't think Prime can actually do anything with nitrite, and it's not toxic in saltwater in any case.

I agree, the nitrite is a non issue. I would just make sure you keep your ammonia at zero by keeping up on the water changes. Test frequently. ;)

thanks, thats a sigh of relief. I test every day. the wrasse is looking a bit better in regard to the ich and other than that, both seem to be healthy. the anthia is still scared and i can't wait to put him in the mt so he can be more at home.
