I have some sps that were browning under my 10k 175s. I upgraded to 10k 250s and therehas been some improvement(2 wks since 250s) but colors are not there yet. I also have 2x 36 watt pc actinics

1. How long should i expect for full colors to come since switching lights

2. I dont think I have nutrients. Nitrates and Phos are both zero.

3. flow is 2 oceanflow 900 mj mods. and 900 gph return pump.

4. Water is clear that i can read normal type writing from other side of tank.

calcium is 400
alk is 10
ph 8-8.1
temp 78 degrees

I also started weekly water changes with reef crystals
SG 1.026. I use chaeto in refugium on reverse light cycle and use a Phos reactor with phos ban

Any comments appreciated

Any suggest

Corals will sometimes take a month or so to color up.

Tha salifert PO4 test is not acurate.

I doubt that light is your problem.

Agreed. 9 out of 10 times phosphates are the culprit for browned out sps.

Thabks for the info. I have a refugium with chaeto and feed every other day. Only 1- 3 inch yellow tang , 2 small clowns, mandarin goby. 4 fish in a 90 with reef octopus skimmer that seems to work well. Also the phosban reactor.

What other ways to reduce phosphates.
