I rescently added a couple of rocks in my aquarium, and now discovered a hitch hiker. Before letting it back I just want to make sure it is reefsafe and if possible get an ID.

I must admit I was a bit surprised, it is not that small. I added the metal piece from a bearcan to compare for size, but it shrinked a bit when I disturbed it so when it crawls it looks a bit larger.

It looks like a close relative to a sea hare.

That might not be a bad guess :) I uploaded a short clip of the slug in motion, it's a bit out of focus but maybe it can help ID'ing the beast:

It looks like a sea hare because it is one. It's Dolabrifera.

Green beans correct, it's a Warty Seacat, which is Dolabrifera dolabrifera. :D

Nice to know it is Dolabrifera dolabrifera (http://www.seaslugforum.net/factsheet.cfm?base=doladola) (the small species) and not Dolabrifera brazieri (http://www.seaslugforum.net/factsheet.cfm?base=dolabraz) which can grow much bigger :)

I'll take that as a no ;)
Do anyone then have some information of breeding of seahares? or maybe tried unsuccesfully?

With a quick google scholar search and a trip to a good library you should be able to find quite a bit of information about breeding Aplysia, but I don't know that anyone has put much serious effort into Dolabrifera. I'm not sure how much overlap there is between the two species.
When I had a pair I never saw any interest in mating. The closest I've come is having Stylocheilius lay a bunch of egg ribbons.

These are definitely one of my favorite reef critters. I got two as hitchhikers but unfortunately one disappeared. One of the best algae eaters I've seen and extremely fun to watch.
