View Full Version : What is this on my Green Star Polyps

I was looking at my tank before going to bed and saw these puffy white things on my green star polyps. I don't know if they are there while they are open and I just can't see them or if they only come out at night. I circled a lot of them so you can tell what I'm talking about. I don't remember seeing them before tonight.

sponges...totally reef safe. probably have them in your sump as well

Kind of blurry, but definitely a sponge. A pineapple sponge I think...

They are good filter feeders as well. I have many of them in shady areas on the rock work.

Great I have been woundering what those were but I cant get a good pic to post. I have these sponges all over my live rock in the tank, and was woundering. Thanks for the thread and pic king nine and for the answeres everyone else.

Your welcome. I was lucky that the pic came out that clear even though someone mentioned it was a little fuzzy. My camera does not take good closeups even in macro mode.
