I have a very cool Saddle Valentini Puffer (Canthigaster valentini) for sale - $15 or Best offer

This fish is very healthy and has a great personality! He does nip at some of the clean up crew and some LPS and SPS but he is great with other fish and Soft Corals. This fish has the most personality of any other fish I have but I want to start keeping some more LPS so he has to go :( I will be at the frag meet tomorrow so if someone who is going wants him let me know.

I was wondering why you wanted him. Oh well he was only $5 just sell him to someone else or take him to the store for credit :( You should be able to get at least $10 for him. I thought you were only keeping soft corals at the time, I was wondering why you wanted all that SPS with your new fish. Bummer…

No problem. At first I thought you were kidding and I was going to give you a hard time. But because I am so afraid to say anything that might offend someone on RC I decided to play it safe, you know the whole politically correct thing. I should have known you were giving me a hard time

Well, I gave the little bugger a try and he is making escargotts out of my clean up crew! I am going to give him some more time (I can deal with him eating the little snails, but if he goes after my Astrea's or my shrimp it is a banishing to the sump for him)

If I have to do that does anyone want him? Poor little guy, he is a very nice looking fish.

One thing...I notice he only seems to go after my snails when I am feeding everyone else (mysis, brine, flake)...anyone know why this would trigger him to go after the snails and not the prepared?

Guys this is not a reef fish

He is safe with soft corals and other fish, that is about it. He will eat prepared food but only after he is done eating the smaller members of your clean up crew. He left my astrea snails alone but any small snails or crabs he ate. He would also leave my larger hermits alone. Your shrimp are going to be short lived with that fish. I think you would be better off taking him up and giving him to rick in Vestal if you decide you don’t want him. Putting him in the sump would make him sad :( This fish was not in my reef tank for what it is worth. I wanted to convert my son’s tank into a full reef that is why I got rid of him. He was kept with a few soft corals, bigger snails, and crabs but that was it…

If you think he is going to go after my shrimp then I better not keep him in here...I have not seen him try it, but I know when I get hungry I always go after shrimp, if they are available :)

If you have someone that will take him I'll hand him off...I feel sorry for the little guy...he is cute and he is bouncing from tank to tank and it is not his fault. He is only doing what comes naturally to him. I thought I would give him a try since he didn't seem to be interested in the soft corals, but I need some snails in the tank to stir up my sand bed...

Give me a call tonight and let me know when he can be moved :( I am sad because he is a nice fish.

Thanks to Vince and Dave VG..."Ditty" the puffer has a new home again. I think this time it is a forever home :)

He really was a good fish, only was eating some snails, but I was worried about my cleaner. I have had her for about 10 months and didn't want her to become a snack for old "Ditty".

Thanks again guys, and it was fun trying to catch him...slick little guy.
