should my green hair coral...i think that is the name of it, be in constant flow blowing over?

I think you may be talking about green star polyps. No coral should ever be in the direct flow of a powerhead meaning that the powerhead is pointing right at it. You can aim the powerhead over the top of it, around the side or bank it off the glass. If the coral you have is green star polyps they only require moderate flow so as long as you see the polyps moving every so often you should be fineā¦

well i have seemed to have lost my camera so i can get a pic of it but the poer head is on the other side of the tank and bouncing off the one of the walls. ill try and get apic some timeand show you how it is moving in the water...

Take a look at zanlus's website under soft... I'm thinking it's either green star polyps (GSP)or green hairy shrooms. If they arent open yet and all you see is a purple mat, then its GSP. Ive had GSP in varying flow from light to strong, but I think medium is best. Otherswise their always bent over in the flow and dont look as nice. Green hairy shrooms should be in low to medium flow.
