W/T 400 watt I/C for 250 watt I/C
I have three 400 watt Ice cap ballast 220 volt ,, and I'm down grading . I would like to trade them for three 250 watt Ice Cap ballast. This would be a good chance for someone to up grad to 400 watters.

Ted,

Sounds like you are trying to reduce your electric bill. How about you just two 400 watters with lumeranic reflectors like this tank:

Just a thought.

Hope all is well.

Cheers,
Chris

Chris , I thought about that , but my tank is 72"X30"X24" tall. Would the reflectors give me enough spread ,on the 72" ? I think I would need the large reflectors , for sure. Ted

Ted,

I am sure you would need the large reflectors, but I don't know if the spread would be good. Have you posted on the lighting forum. Matt L has a large tank with only 2 MH on it I believe. I wonder if his is 60" or a 72" tank?

I just saw the TOM and thought of you. (-: I hope you can just find a trade though.

I hope to see you this Saturday.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris, I don't have room in my canopy for the large reflectors , but I think I will be going with the two 400 watters. If I do that there will be one less bulb to buy, when I need to change bulbs. I'm looking forward to see you again too. Ted

I decided to keep my 400 watters . I will be selling one of the three. Ted

Ted,

Not only is bulb cost lower, but your electric bill will be much lower and maybe you chiller doesn't have to run as hard either.

If two bulbs create a shadow, I will bet you can arrange the rock as to take advantage of the shadow; like make a revine that looks deeper. Just a thought.

Glad you tank is doing well. I don't have much but you are welcome to anything I can frag. I have some of your green monti I believe. Not much of that in the Gulf though. )-:

Cheers,
Chris

Ted,

I might be interested in your lights and in general for chatting with you on regards to your tank and setup as I am building a 72" square x 24" deep and would like to pick over your brain a bit. Please visit my posting : http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1123311 to catch you up on a few of my concerns and feel free to post. Hope to get some good insight and look forward to talking.
