I have ceriths, mini brittle/serpent stars, a sand sifting cuke (have to make sure not to get the poisonous kind that can nuke your tank when they die).

Tiger Tail Sea Cucumber is good. You could also try a serpent starfish…

Nassarius vibex snails are great too... they bury in the sand and only come out when they "smell" food in the water. ive seen them eat whole chunks of fish waste and are also really good at cleaning up excess food.

Stirring the substrate yourself is a good way to oxygenate the sanbed and also releases nutrients and bacteria into the water column which is excellent food for sps and other corals and is alot cheaper than DT's. It is best to do this at night when corals feed. Just do a little bit at a time since it will release nitrogenous waste into the water. So easy does it. This is a tried and true method used by Anthony calfo and others.
