I have some crab problems. I just now found a mean lil sucker cutting up my anthelia and eating it! I have lost a very large kenya tree close to where I found this litlle guy. He got away before I could catch him. He looked really fuzzy and was probably around and inch in length. Any ideas on how to catch this? If he poses a threat to any other corals?

You can make a bottle trap or use a glass resting on the rocks in the area you see him, lean it at an angle so he can get in but not out. Bait the trap and set it at night.

If the trap doesn't work, try to pull out the rock that the crab lives in.

Generally the glass traps work, sometimes it might take a few tries, but I've got every crab that way.

I don't quite understand how to lean the glass so that he can get in, but not out. Could you clarify?

Thanks!

it cant climb the glass, so lean the glass against a rock, so it can climb down the rock into the glass. (if its straight up, it can't climb the glass over the top of the glass to get in... thats how the trap works, so you have to lean the glass against something the crab can climb to get in the glass

ah, cool idea, Ive gotta do that. Should I bait the trap with something or just leave it near the rock I found him on?

If you know where it hangs out definately put it near there. I've always propped mine against that rock. Put something meaty in there it won't just go into the glass.
