Gate valve mod for ASM-G4X skimmer

Can someone please tell me what I need to make the gate valve mod for the ASM-G4X skimmer or even point me to the thread. I need to do this asap as the noise is driving everyone crazy in the house. Thanks

not sure if the gate valve is going to help with the noise. where is the noise coming from? is it from air intake or water splashing? You can get the gate valve at any of the online stores plumbingsupply.com savko.com. they also should have them at homey and hardware stores. then just some elbows and pipe. check out www.asmskimmer.com

I dont think you'll find the gate valve at the local stores but Savko and Aquatic Eco have them. Is the noise water or air? If water when you do the mod make sure you extend the drain line under the water and if the air I made a silencer out of 2 pvc endcaps - works great.

The noise is from the water coming out of the pipe and dropping down. Is there a link on building one?

I just did all the mods on my G3. I also HATED the splashing noise and the salt creep was crazy! I did the Gate valve mod, mesh wheel mod, recirculating mod and drilled out my air intake a little to get more air into the skimmer. I have a 8.5x11 sheet of the Enkamat I am selling shipped for $5 if you wanna mod the needlewheel while you have the skimmer out doing the other mod. PM me if you want some as I may not check back here :)
