So just changed my VHO's on a 70 gal. tank and not less then an hour later, my green algae changed from green to brown. I have not had this happen before so just curious to see if this is normal. The old bulbs were about 8 months old. Anyone have a similar occurence, or any input?

Was the VHO the same wattage?

Yes, exactly the same. Oh and it was mainly the green hair algae, Im kinda figuring that the other bulbs were older then the date written on them. And thanks for the welcome to RC
