I have this in my tank:

250MH DE x 2
54w T5 x 2 actinics

mixed reef: xenias, anemones, Zoos (don't grow), clam, hammer branch, leather, shrooms, some others with no names...

I was thinking of just putting ONE 250w MH DE 14k in the center with 2 54w T5s actinics on, instead of running two MHs.

will one be enough lighting in center?

what do you all run on your 75?

I had 2 250 watt halides with 2 110watt VHO's for my lighting over my 75. By removing one halide you will be shocking the corals and that can cause them to crash and bleach.

Does your 75g have a center brace? If so, that too will cut down on the light that your corals get. To be honest, if I had to pick the perfect setup for a 75g which allowed the most flexibility in terms of what corals (including SPS), clams, etc... to keep, you already have it! :D

Don't forget that if you put your halide in the center it will be directly over the center brace...

It is a 4' tank.. a halide is good for about 2 feet. By going this route you will have very little light on the sides and alot in the middle.
