View Full Version : Reefhotspot.com's RC Tank Challenge=free Coral
ReefHotSpot
05/10/2007, 01:07 PM
Greetings from www.reefhotspot.com,
Win our tank challenge and we will give you the coral of your choice delivered to your door for FREE! Gotta love that. The competition will be closed at 12PM PST 5/17 and the winner will be picked on 5/18.
 Why are we giving away free coral? It's simple. We believe that we have better corals at a better price than our competitors. While you are on our site, compare our prices and selection.
So. . .competition rules. Again, pretty simple. Post a picture of your tank in this thread. Below the picture of your tank post the web address of the specific coral that you would like if you win. The coral can have a value of up to $100. The coral must be shipped within 7 days of winning. If the coral of your choice should not be available at the time at which the competition is concluded, then you have the option of picking another coral of a value up to $100 as a replacement within 7 days of the conclusion of the competion. Again, everything about the transaction is free.
Criteria for picking winner: A beautiful, healthy tank that we'd be happy to ship a coral to on our dime. That's all. Note: We are not running a "perfect tank" competition so if you are a beginner or already have a fully stocked tank please enter.
That's all folks! Who's going to be the winner?
Best Regards,
Max

Hey Everyone,
We would very much appreciate if you would get the word out about this give away to your friends here on RC and other places. The more popular it is the more times we'll do it. Like I stated in the openning post, we are doing this to get exposure for our great corals at a great price.
The more exposure we get from this kind of "competition" the more we'll invest in future giveaways and dare I say. . .the more we'll invest in your tank. :D

Hello All,
If you are interested in SPS, it is hard to beat this deal. RHS Ocean cultured colonies that other sites sell for $50-$100 a piece, we sell them as a group pack of 6 for $179.99. With free shipping for orders over $225, well. . .that's hard to beat! Other retailers buy this pack from us because it's essentially at or below wholesale!!!

Hi Freed,
We can't and don't claim to have the best price on all items at all times. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. We'll take a look at it and see if we can reduce the price.
We do encourage customers to shop around. Overall, we believe that customers will find their greatest value buying from www.reefhotspot.com with Free FedEx Priority Overnight shipping.
Why don't you put that as your free item for the competition? I think we could make an exception in your case if you should win.
Thanks,
Max

sorry to butt in on the contest but this is a pretty good deal, scarlet hermits sell for about 3 bucks on other sites and the electric blues Ive seen for 8.99 a piece on Liveaquaria, trochus snails usually about 2 dollars if you can even find them in stock elsewhere.

Hey got2lb,
Sorry to hear about the losses. Glad to hear that you are sticking with it!
Nice choice on the blasto, it is a sweet piece. We've got a number in stock now that will be showing up on the site so if you should win and it isn't available there will be some great replacements to choose from.
We are not allowing add on products for the shipment because we want this just to be a strait give-away to RC members. We appreciate the offer, though.

Hey Shag,
If there is one thing I've learned here on RC, people post all kinds of things for all kinds of reasons. For example: the guy on your sps frag pack thread. That said, 99.99% of people posting are RC are just trying to be helpful and that makes this place of "ours" invaluable.
Reading Freed's information at the bottom of his post, it seems that he is very price conscious and I can respect that as this is an expensive hobby. It is one of the reasons that we work so hard to have the best prices/value that we can achieve for our customers.
Best Regards,
Max

Yeah sometimes you just have to pull through the tough times and make the best of it! :)
Been keeping my eyes out for some nice blastos for quite a while now and have been eyeing your site pretty hard! :D
That's fine about not adding things on, I guess I may just have to save up some more cash and put in an order! ;)

It's kinda hard to get a full tank shot that shows any details but here is an overall shot. It is almost a year old now and is somewhere around 400 gal total volume if you include the 140g fuge and sumps. I have overdriven T5's and keep LPS, clams, SPS, softies... just about everything.

FYI Reefhotspot - Cool idea. Heard about this on a different thread and hopped on over. I'd never been to your site, but now that I've seen it, I think I will definitely have to give it a try. Sneaky!! Good luck to everyone. Whoever wins is getting a great prize!

We have a winner!
But first. . .we'd like to say that we were very impressed by the tank submissions. We did not expect to see such a wealth of beautiful tanks out there and we are very pleased that so many RC members took the time to submit their tank for this challenge.
We chose Aquabucket's submission to be this week's winner. Aquabucket's 40 gallon skimmerless, sumpless tank is quite the beauty. Checkout his tank thread: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=893433 Aquabucket's choice of a Symphyllia coral is a great match for his LPS dominated tank. Congratulations to Aquabucket!
Of course, there were many tanks submitted that we would have been happy to send a coral to on our dime. But. . .alas. . .shipping is free for you, not for us so we can pick only one.
Join our next tank challenge for another chance to win free coral delivered to your.
Best Regards,
Max

Hawk,
Stunning tank! Keep up the good work. Nice catch on the striped carpet. It definitely in the top 10% of what is imported. Nice pair o'percs too. Great stoney growth.
One question: What's with the droopy acro on the left? :) It is hard to make out from the photo but that can't be an acro? And, is that a multicolor enjoying the shade of your cap?
Best Regards,
Max
