Sorry about the picture quality. I have a decent camera but I dont know how to take macro pictures very good. I saw a couple of these snails in my tank today. It has long antennas and is almost white-tan in color.

Hi Dave,

Fantastic macro photos aren't usually required to ID a snail, assuming a person is familiar with the animal, but... the bottom of snail feet tend to look alike, and I can only narrow down the ID to about 50,000 species from your photo. If you want it ID'ed, as a minimum you need to show the shape of the shell, and a view from the top. Depending on the family, you may also need a view of the aperture. Take him out and put him in a dish to take his photo, you'll have a lot better luck with the pics, and you'll have a lot better chance getting him identified.

Cheers,

Don

Does it have a shell, if not it could be a stomatella.

Yeah I know but it's not an eye catcher when you look at it fast, and with that pic it's hard to say.

Why not take it out of the tank and take photos of it in a shallow bowl of tank water. You should be able to get great shots from all angles this way.
