Damsels and other fish

Was thinking of purchasing maybe a clown and a yellow or blue tang, would it be a good idea to remove my 2 damsels before purchasing anything else?

Damsels tend to get big and mean, if you want to keep more peaceful fish in the tank it may be best to remove them.
