I can tell he is hungry because he is jetting to the top everytime I come to the tank but won't eat anything I put in there. I throw in brinse shrimp flake, frozen brine shrimp and he just takes a bite then spits it out. I think the frozen brine shrimp was a bad idea..... its a million tiny pieces and only make a mess. Does anyone trigger like to eat this??? I have these HBH super soft Spirulina pellets that he will eat although they are not exactly meaty enough for the carnivore. I went back to the store to ask the LPS owner and he said he was feeding him feeder goldfish. Then I realized omg this fish was eating that garbage all along. Luckily the fish is healthy although he is trained to only eat crappy goldfish. Any methods of getting this guy to eat prepared foods???? any foods that will for sure get him eating like supermarket shrimp???? Oh and is any shrimp from the market good???

you can try tongs (gently shake the food so it looks like it's alive)
soaking foods in garlic seems help some people get finicky eaters to accept prepared foods

Picasso Trigger eating Goldfish? How big is this thing?
If he is eating the pellets, feed him pellets, plenty of nutrition in there. Some people feed only pellets to their carnivores.

Go to the grocery store and buy fresh clams or mussels. Pry one open and drop it in the tank. Guarantee that he will go for it!! Put the rest in the freezer and just thaw one out when needed. Fresh (raw) shrimp is a good idea too. Cut it up into pieces and always thaw it out first. My own picasso eats just about anything. Clams, mussels, shrimp, squid, pellets, flake, nori, live ghost shrimp too. Since I live near the gulf I also on occasion catch him some small live crabs too.
