I recently (less than a month ago) purchased 2 Icecap T5 Retrofit Kits (1 - 4 bulb 39 watt kit and 1 -4 bulb 24 watt kit) to retrofit into my canopy.
One thing I had not counted on was that my canopy is "reef-ready" and there is a full 12" in clearance from the top of the water to the interior ceiling of the canopy. I ordered a canopy this tall to give me the flexibility to go with MH in the future should I want to.
If I were to install the endcaps and lamps directly to the ceiling of the canopy, the lamps would be approximately 10" or so from the top of the water. From all I've heard about T5s, they should not be any higher than 8" from the water, and 5-6" is preferred. Complicating matters is that I have a 92 gallon corner bowfront tank, so the canopy is obviously not rectangular in shape.
Do you sell a bracket, spacer, or some other device to bring the endcaps and the T5 retrofits closer o the water when placed within a "reef-ready" canopy? What is the best way to get these lights closer to the water within a canopy?
