Well memorial day weekend is coming up, I think that is this up coming holiday....:( ....but were going to the Hampton's for it any way so I have decided to take the fam to the Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead. I was wondering if any one has been there before??? I think we are going to be doing the behind the scenes tour, so I'll be sure to take lots of pics to share....they have this swimming with the sharks thing...OMG...I am going to do it the next time I go down....saving my pennies for this one...LoL

Lucky! I have heard it is awesome there!! They only complaint I have every heard about it is the swimming with the sharks this isn’t worth the money. Apparently they say it is a 2 hour thing but you only end up actually swimming with the sharks for about 2 minutes. You may want to look into it more before spending the money. Their reef tank looks awesome from the pictures I have seen! Check it out…

Hey Guys - As a LIRA member and former LI'er , I've been there a few times, the last in March for NERAC III. There's a lot of neat displays, and of course the reef, which I think is some 20000 gallons. Joe Y. is the guy there, and we were able to explore from behind the scene. I have a couple of really great pictures taken looking down into the reef from the scaffolding above. I'll try and post them if I can find them later.
The shark swimming thing is new... I havent heard any first hand reviews - only from the people who work there...

Dang it. I went back and reread that thread where the guy was talking about the shark dive and he was talking about Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas NOT Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead. I take back what I said about the shark dive :( Here is the thread I was referring to, maybe it is worth the money after all…
